The Loosen family has been growing Riesling and producing wine in the Mosel valley for over 200 years. The current owner, Ernst “Erni” Loosen, assumed ownership in 1988, embarking on a quest to greatly improve the quality and international reputation of the estate, the Mosel region, and Riesling in general. Today, Erni is one of the most iconic and influential winemakers in the world. A full range of Riesling styles is produced, following the traditions of both family lines: dry wines from the paternal Loosen side, and Pradikat wines inspired by the maternal branch (the Prüm family). Steep slopes of the Middle Moselle.
Riesling Kabinett, Blue Slate
Pradikatswein. This estate-grown Dr. Loosen Riesling Kabinett embodies the racy, mineral-driven style of steep, blue slate vineyards in the famous middle Mosel villages of Bernkastel, Graach and Wehlen. It's a crisp, juicy Riesling that makes an ideal aperitif, and pairs well with spicy Asian cuisine. Alc. 7.5% by vol. Produce of Germany.
Tasting Notes |
Sunbaked slate and dusty earth tones introduce this spry, spice-tinged Riesling. Dry and focused yet not all stern in style, the mineral intensity pairs with pristine lemon and white peach flavors. |
