Albarino, Umpqua Valley, Southern Oregon, 2011
Estate grown. This is the 11th vintage of Albarino we have produced from our estate vineyards. This Galician style wine exhibits aromas and flavors of crisp apples, pears, lemon, kiwi, and delicate white flowers all carried on a frame that skirts the razors edge between creamy textures and steely minerality. We recommend pairing this wine with fresh seafood over the next 3 years; earlier if you seek crispness, later if you prefer greater complexity. The accomplishments of Abacela with Spanish and Portuguese wine grapes, like this Albarino have established our reputation as a pioneering American producer of native Iberian varietal wines. Earl and Hilda Jones, Proprietors. Andrew Wenzl, Winemaker. Alcohol 12.9% by vol. Produced and bottled by Abacela.
