Directions You will need: large bowl, 1/2 cup cold water, vegetable oil (enough to fill skillet 1/2 inch deep), large skillet. Mix: In a large bowl, combine contents of 1 packet with 1/2 cup water stir until well blended. Let stand 10 minutes. Pour vegetable oil into heavy skillet or saucepan to a depth of 1/2 inch. Heat skillet to 350 degrees F. Wet hands and shape batter into balls, approximately 1 inch in diameter. Fry: Add falafel balls to the hot vegetable oil and fry in skillet until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Remove; drain on paper towels. Perfect in pita bread; scrumptious in salads; a perfect addition to a crudite platter. Each packet makes: 12 falafel balls.
