Directions
Keep frozen. For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Before eating, cook thoroughly to at least 160 degrees F as measured by an instant-read food thermometer. Keep frozen until ready to cook. Adjust cook times and heat settings as needed. Refrigerate leftovers. Note: Beets will turn the cooking liquid red. Stove-Top Directions: Heat 1/4 cup water to boiling in 2-quart saucepan. Add beets. Cover; cook over medium-high heat 9 to 11 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked. Drain if necessary. Microwave Directions: Important: Do not microwave in bag. Pour beets and 1 tablespoon water into 2-quart round microwavable casserole dish. Cover; microwave on high according to chart, stirring halfway through cook time, until thoroughly cooked. Caution: Hot! Uncover carefully; stir well. Drain if necessary. 1200 Microwave Wattage (Microwave wattages vary; adjust cook time for the wattage of your microwave. Do not leave microwave unattended): 6 to 7 minutes on high. 1000 Microwave Wattage (Microwave wattages vary; adjust cook time for the wattage of your microwave. Do not leave microwave unattended): 7 to 8 minutes on high. 700 Microwave Wattage (Microwave wattages vary; adjust cook time for the wattage of your microwave.
