Directions
You'll Need:
1 egg
4 Tbsp. (1/4 cup) butter or margarine*, softened (not melted)
1. Heat oven to 350°F. If necessary, soften cold butter in microwave on high power for 10–15 seconds.
2. Stir with a spoon. Stir egg, butter and cookie mix until dough forms, hand kneading if necessary. Scoop dough and place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Use a fork to form a crisscross pattern on each cookie. For cookie bars, press dough into lightly greased 8x8-inch pan.
3. Bake as directed below or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes and remove from cookie sheet. For cookie bars, cool thoroughly before cutting. Store cooled cookies in airtight container.
For 16–18 cookies use 1 rounded Tbsp. of dough and bake 9–11 minutes.
For 12 cookies use 2 rounded Tbsp. of dough and bake 11–13 minutes.
For cookie bars use an 8x8-inch pan and bake 22–24 minutes.
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Bars
• 1 package of Krusteaz Double Peanut Butter Cookie Mix
• 4 Tbsp butter, softened.
• 1 egg
• 1 cup chocolate chips
Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 9x9-inch pan. Sir butter, egg and cookie mix until dough forms. Press dough into pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, lightly pressing into dough. Bake 22–28 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into bars. Makes 16 bars.
Tip: For monster cookies, stir in chopped peanuts, colored chocolate candies and chocolate tips.
