Directions French Onion Soup: Ingredients: 1 Just In Time Gourmet French Onion Soup Mix; 4 tablespoons butter; 1 large onion, thinly sliced; 1/2 of a 16-ounce loaf of French bread cut into 6 thick slices; 4 cups water; 6 slices provolone cheese. Preheat oven to broil. Place bread on a baking sheet and put under broiler. Toast one side, turn, place a slice of cheese on top and toast until cheese is melted. Remove from oven; set aside. In a large soup pot, melt butter over medium high heat and saute onion until translucent. Add soup mix and water; bring to a simmer over medium heat. Turn off heat. Divide soup into 6 bowls and distribute onions evenly. Place toasted cheese bread on top of each bowl of soup and serve immediately.
