Directions What You Will Need: Onion & garlic; Cream; Chicken stock; Bacon. Included: potato; veggie blend; seasoning. 1 pkg soup mix; 3 slices bacon, chopped; 1/2 medium onion, chopped; 2 cloves garlic, minced; 1-1/2 cups water; 4 cups chicken stock; 2 cups milk or half and half. 1. Cook bacon in a stock pot until crisp. Add onion and garlic. Saute 1-2 minutes until softened. 2. Remove seasoning packet and set aside. Add remaining contents of soup mix, water and chicken stock. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. 3. Whisk milk or half and half and seasoning packet in a medium bowl until incorporated. Stir into soup and simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally. Tip: Seafood chowder: Add 1 cup of smoked salmon or a can of canned clams. Simmer for additional 5 minutes.
