Directions
Don't forget the frosting! Vanilla frosting 1/2 cup butter, softened 4-1/2 cups powdered sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 5 to 6 tablespoons milk. In large bowl with electric mixer, beat butter until light and fluffy, gradually add powdered sugar until blended. Beat in vanilla and milk until smooth and spreadable. Baking Instructions: Please don't eat raw batter. You will need 3/4 cup water. 2/3 cup oil. 4 eggs. No oil? No problem! Make cake butter using, 3/4 cup water, 2/3 cup melted butter and 4 eggs. 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F for aluminum or glass pan or 325 degrees F for nonstick pan. Grease bottom only of 13 inches x 9 inches pan or generously grease and flour bottom and sides of all other pans. 2. Beat together mix, water, oil and eggs in large bowl on low speed 30 seconds then on high speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Spread evenly in pan. 3. Bake as directed below or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Cool completely before frosting. Store loosely covered. Pan Size: 13 inch x 9 inch; 30-35 bake time (in minutes). Two 8 inch rounds; 30-35 bake time (in minutes). Two 9 inch rounds; 27-32 bake time (in minutes). Bundt; 40-45 bake time (in minutes). Cup cakes (makes 24); 15-20 bake time (in minutes). High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Bake 13 x 9 pan 24-29 minutes. Bake 30 cupcakes 11-16 minutes.
