Simmer: Rice is a natural agriculture product. Despite the use of modern cleaning equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign materials. Sort and remove foreign materials before cooking. Combine rice, water, and butter (optional) in medium saucepan, according to chart below. Season with salt if desired. Bring to a boil. Servings: 2-3: 1/2 cup rice, 3/4 cup water or broth, 2 tsp butter or oil (optional); Servings: 4-5: 1 cup rice, 1-1/2 cups water or broth, 1 tbsp butter or oil (optional); Servings: 8-10: 2 cups rice, 3 cups water or broth, 2 tbsp butter or oil (optional). For high altitudes, use slightly more water and allow 5 minutes longer cooking time. Difference in altitude, hardness of water and product moisture may change the suggest cook time.
